Kenyan's Dominate Pattaya Marathon 2017
Well done to all of the 1,000 plus runners who took part in Pattaya's marathon on Sunday morning.
The event is now in its 26th year and has steadily grown in popularity and success over the years, thanks to the efforts of the Sport Tourism Destination Authorities for Thailand.
Every year, new sponsors are attracted as the event gets bigger, attracting runners from all over the world.
Like most city marathons, it is open to more or less everyone, not just world class athletes. However there is no doubting the class of the two winners in this years race.
First home for the men, was Kenyan Gilbert Muge, who completed the formidable distance in 2 hours 31 minutes as Margaret Wangui Njuguna, led the woman home in 2 hours 56 minutes. Amazingly Kenyan, Njuguna is 48-years-old, so credit to the lady.
Congratulations to everyone who managed to get up for the 05:00 start and of course for completing the Pattaya marathon.
