ATM Pays Out 69,000 Extra To Thai Man
An employee at D Beach Hotel in Pattaya, thought it was his lucky day, when he placed his bank card into an ATM and asked for 1,000 baht.
Instead of receiving the requested amount, the ATM generously presented 57-year-old Boonsong Poolsukserm, with 70,000 baht more than he asked for.
But honest Boonsong, took the additional 69,000 baht to a local police station to explain that when he asked for 1,000 baht at the Siam Commercial Bank ATM on Thepprasit Road, he got more than he bargained for.
Boonsong admitted he did consider keeping the money but he didn't give into temptation and his integrity won on the day.
Once he handed the money over and it was recorded that he had done so, the bank were contacted and the money was safely returned.
There was no mention in the original report of whether the honest gent was given any form of reward for his honourable actions.
