It Was Nice To See You, To See You Nice
One of Britain's legendary TV presenters, Sir Bruce Forsyth, has passed away at the age of 89.
Born on February 22, 1928, in Middlesex, Bruce began life in the entertainment industry at the age of 14 and went on to become the UK's highest paid star.
He hosted numerous TV shows including "Saturday Night at the London Palladium" and "The Royal Variety Performance" in 1950s and 1960s.
He was given his own variety show, in 1965, which ran until 1973. In 1971 he coined the phrase "Didn't they do well" as he compared the "Generation Game".
The hit shows continued with "The Price Is Right", Play Your Cards Right" and of course "Strictly Come Dancing".
The star had been ill for some time and had been in hospital earlier this year, suffering from a chest infection.
A statement from his manager Ian Wilson said he died "peacefully at his home surrounded by his wife Wilnelia and all his children".
"A couple of weeks ago, a friend visited him and asked him what he had been doing these last 18 months. With a twinkle in his eye, he responded, 'I've been very, very busy... being ill!'" he added.
Our thoughts are with the friends and family.
