Thai Companies Look Towards Asean Markets For Expansion
Many of Thailand's top companies have invested in overseas markets, typically in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean).
The Bank of Thailand show an increase in investments during this quarter with figures up by 3.67% to $30.19 billion.

Many investors from Thailand chose Singapore, closely followed by Vietnam and Myanmar.
President of CH. Karnchang, Supamas Trivisvavet said "We increase our investment in Asean countries when see see viable opportunities to expand our business".
CH. Karnchang invested in a hydro-power plant in Laos and has other interests in Myanmar, Cambodia and Vietnam.
Another major player is Siam Cement Group, who focused their investments into three main areas of construction materials, packaging, and petrochemicals.
Thai Beverage, who recently announced the purchase of many KFC outlets in Thailand are yet another example of Thailand's financial power in the Asean marketplace, having sanctioned investments in the food and drink business areas overseas.
Thai Beverage President and Chief Executive Officer Thapana Sirivadhanabhakdi said the group was drawn to Asean because of the size of the marketplace and its scope for business expansion.
According to a survey by the Stock Exchange of Thailand, listed companies made direct investments overseas of 185.11 billion baht in 2016, a jump of 146.25 per cent from the 75.17 billion baht recorded at the end of 2015.
