Spotify Comes To Thailand
Good news for music streaming lovers in Thailand as Spotify announces it will be available in the Kingdom this month.
For those who are not familiar with the service, Spotify is a music, podcast and video streaming service that was officially launched on October 7, 2008.
The company provides digital rights management-protected content from record labels and media companies. It has a free service, which offers basic services accompanied by adverts or a subscription service which affords their customers, higher quality streaming and offline music downloads.
The Swedish company began life in 2008 and are now headquartered in New York, in the USA.
The service is easy to use. Simply search for your favourite artist or song and click play. You can save/download and create playlists with the easy to use interface.
The service offers a number of extras such as selecting a song and creating a radio playlist from that tune, so you get a variety of music. It also provides daily mixes for its users based on what they have listened to in the past.
People from Europe have been using Spotify in Thailand if they were already subscribers or had the app installed on their phones. Others have had to rely on VPN but soon it will be available across the country for all.
You can listen to your tunes on computers, mobile phones and tablets via the free Spotify application.
The company pays around 70% of its income in royalties to the music industry for use of their songs and with streaming becoming more popular, artists receive a fair amount of their income from such services.
