Sign In Phuket Has Locals Laughing

Locals in Rawai in Phuket saw the funny side of a "tsunami" warning sign showing the way to safety. However, it seems you have to run 700 kilometres at record speed to be sure you are safe from the giant waves.

The image was posted and shared on Facebook before news agency Thai Rath spotted it and ran the story on their website. Locals and foreigners alike joked asking if "Bangkok was far enough or would they have to go as far as Chiang Mai to ensure peace of mind".

The sign almost certainly should read 700 metres.
