Concerns As US Firm Design Drone That Is Armed With Machine Gun And Grenade Launcher

An American company have designed a drone that could change the how armies fight in the future.

Duke Robotics have developed a drone which can fly whilst fully armed with a machine gun and grenade launcher, which can be controlled to release its payload from a remote location.

The aim is to inflict maximum damage on the enemy with minimum casualties, with the drone taking all of the risk.

The operator can view images of targets sent from the drone's cameras before firing on an unsuspecting enemy, with no risk to themselves.

However, in the wrong hands, this is a weapon that could wreak havoc on innocent victims. The small drone differs from the larger military drones already in use, as they do not require to fly thousand of feet above their targets.

These much smaller craft can hover just above street level and release a devastating array of firepower onto civilians, which is a major concern for many. Concerns that terrorists could get hold of the drones will strike fear into many people.

The drone is attracting interest from nations around the globe and is another step into automated warfare.
