36 Dead In Coach Accident In China
As many as 36 people have died as a result of a horrific accident involving a coach, in western of China. It is believed 13 more were injured and being treated in hospital.
China's news agency Xinhua reports that the vehicle slammed into the wall of an expressway tunnel on the Xi'an-Hanzhong motorway in the Shaanxi Province, just before midnight on Thursday.
The bus was travelling from Chengdu to Luoyang in the Henan Province, when the incident occurred.
China is very secretive when it comes to releasing stats but according to the World Health Organisation, 250,000 people died on China's roads in 2013. Despite promises from the Chinese government that they would improve on road safety and dangerous driving, there appears to be little improvement.
Car ownership has seen a upsurge as the country becomes more developed but like many Asia countries, driving test are far from demanding and in many cases, people do no not possess a license or had any official training before getting behind the wheel of a car.
