No Risk From Sea Lice In Phuket
A marine biologist from the Phuket Marine Biological Centre has said "There is no risk from sea lice in Phuket".
Vararin Vongpanich informed the press "Sea lice in Phuket’s waters have never been recorded harming anyone to any serious extent or attack in big groups".
The announcement follows an incident where sea lice attacked a teenager in Australian waters, leaving him bleeding profusely from perforations on his legs.
The biologist conceded that Phuket does have sea lice but the species is not likely to be the same that were responsible for the attack in Australia.
