North Korea Threaten To Attack The Tiny Island Of Guam

It seems there is no end to North Korea's attempts at striking fear into many of the countries within distance of its "claimed" nuclear target range.

The lastest news coming from Pyongyang is that Kim Jong-un is considering attacking the tiny island of Guam, south of Japan. The island plays host to a US military base.

The announcement was made my North Korea's state media, their official news agency. They said they were considering firing medium to long range missiles at Guam, where US strategic bombers are based.

The UN approved additional economic sanctions against North Korea, which Pyongyang claimed is a ""violent violation of our sovereignty" and warned that the US would pay for their actions.

Yesterday, media reports in the United States alleged that the Koreans had achieved its aim of producing a nuclear warhead, capable of fitting inside its missiles.

The claims are unsubstantiated but if true, it poses a serious threat to the USA and its allies.

Japanese reports suggest that the North Korean's weapons programme had advanced considerably, affirming fears that the country does indeed have a nuclear attack capability.

American President, Donald Trump has warned North Korea to cease threatening the US or they would be "met with fire and fury like the world has never seen". It remains to be seen if these are idle threats from Mr Trump or if they will indeed take military action against Pyongyang.

It appears that China, who are North Korea's closest ally, have also lost patience and are said to be 100% behind the recently announced sanctions.
