Man Found With Human Arms In Suitcase
A Chinese man was caught transporting two human arms in a suitcase at a bus station checkpoint in Duyun in south west China.
Officials made the gruesome discovery when security scanners displayed the limbs.
Believing they were dealing with a murderer, the man was immediately arrested and questioned.
He gave his account of things and despite the story being almost unimaginable, it turned out to be true. He explained that the arms belonged to his brother, who lost them as a result of an electrical accident.
The arms were to be kept in safe storage for his brother, so he was taking them home for him, following their amputation.
Should his brother die, the arms were to be buried with the rest of his body, in line with local customs.
Amazingly his story checked out when police investigated.
It was unclear if the man had a permit to transport human body parts, which in China is required by law, so he could still find himself in trouble with the authorities.
Another issues was that buses had banned passengers from carrying human body parts, even if the person had the required permit.
The report makes no mention of how the arms were preserved or if they were just placed in the gentleman's suitcase.
