Illegal Chinese Workers Caught In Pattaya

Police raided a construction site on Pattaya Sai 3, which resulted in the arrest of a number of illegal Chinese workers.

The report states that tourist police led by local chief Piyapong Ensarn, entered the site shouting "Stop! Stop!" but those present did not appear to comprehend either English nor Thai.

Officers questioned them but the workers were confused, not understanding what was being asked of them.

Police arrested Long Ling, 41, who appeared to be in charge and took him away for questioning.

It is believed that the Chinese workers were being paid 1,500 baht per day and had worked there since January.
