Dolphin Roundabout To Disappear

One of Pattaya's most famous landmarks could be set to disappear as plans are announced to improve traffic flow in the area.
But citizens are outraged at the decision and are demanding that the Dolphin Roundabout should be left alone.
As the news spread, a petition was inaugurated with the intention of saving the popular feature in North Pattaya.
Hundreds have already signed it but whether it will succeed in saving the dolphins is another matter.
A mock farewell has been held to say goodbye to the roundabout by a group of people known as the "Pattaya Watchdog" who petitioned Pattaya's Mayor Anan Charoenchasri in an attempt to stop the removal and find an alternative.
Surely the landmark could be moved and preserved at a nearby location, even if it was no longer used as a functioning roundabout?
The Dolphin Roundabout can lay claim to being named as one of the twelve most beautiful roundabouts in the world, an honour bestowed on it by the "British Roundabout Association" in 2015.
The original story from the Daily News suggested that there is an online form, which concerned citizens who wish to see the landmark remain can sign. The petition is at change.org
