Taiwanese Student Has Unusual Job

Have you even wondered where your next baht is coming from, struggling to make ends meet?

Maybe you fancy a change in career because you are bored in your present role?

Or maybe you are an entrepreneur, looking for a new money making scheme?

Well the answer to your problems could lie in cockroaches. Yes you did read that right, it does indeed say "cockroaches". Most of us think of the insects as pests, found in dirty conditions but one 20-year-old student from Taiwan, is making his fortune from the bugs.

The student named as Tong, is making over 2.8 million baht per annum from his cockroach farm.

His business plan came about by fate, when he began breeding them in his apartment to feed his pet. Of course the horrible creatures multiplied fast, which was more than he bargained for, seeing as he had an inbuilt fear of cockroaches.

As a result of his new hobby, he began enduring nightmares, featuring the despised bugs.

Over a six month period, Tong found himself with almost 40,000 cockroaches in his apartment. Then he met up with a buyer called Tse, who offered to take all his surplus off his hands, much to Tong's relief.

Tong soon realised he could make a substantial income from the sale of the cockroaches and began farming them. At present, he has over 2.7 million of the insects on his farm, which he sells on to Tse.

The report does not say what the cockroaches are purchased for but it conjures up a whole lot of blood curdling notions. Could you be a cockroach farmer? Source: The Asian Correspondent Content: TPVS
