Three Chinese Arrested Over illegal Import Business
Three Chinese people were caught "red handed" dealing in what was classed as "illegal imports" after neighbours became suspicious of their activities.
The foreigners, who operated from the Ramkhamhaeng area of Bangkok, attracted the attention of residents living nearby, due to a constant flow of deliveries to the premises.
One of those residents, contacted the police, who duly turned up and raided the venue. They found the occupants packaging items, ready for distribution.
Further inspection revealed there were no documents for tax and the goods in question, were deemed illegal.
Amongst the wares found were computer components, handbags, shoes and a variety of accessories.
After inspecting another venue, officers located more items. In total, 10 million baht's worth of merchandise was discovered. The contraband was taken away in two lorries.
Three people were taken into custody and charged.
A good raid for the police but a bad day at the office for those operating the illicit business.
