Woman With 40 Plus Dogs Given 20 Days To Leave Her Home

A woman who has been looking after over 40 street dogs in Samut Songkram Province, has been told to vacate the plot of land she calls home and to take her dogs with her.

Suwandee Moongkhamen, 58, has been given just 20 days to leave her residence by the land owner.

Suwandee claims to feed both herself and her 43 pets on a measly 1000 baht per month she earns from cleaning toilets at a nearby temple. She said she would rather die than leave her dogs behind, referring to them as her children.

She was described as a "squatter" in the report but said the land owner permitted her to live on the small site and that locals had helped erect a fence to keep the dogs in and prevent them being run down by passing traffic.

We hope the lady finds a solution to her problem but it is baffling how anyone can survive on 1000 baht per month and feed that amount of dogs!
