Three Charged For Promoting Alcohol

It appears you can now be arrested for promoting alcohol, even when it is your job.

Three girls whose who were employed to promote drinks in a "by one get one free" promotion, found themselves in an awkward situation as police arrested them for doing what they were being paid to do.

As a result, they ended up having mugshots taken and a criminal record.

Saraburi police took the girls into custody after explaining they had broken the law regarding the promotion of alcohol in Thailand.

Police were alerted after one of the girls posted on Facebook a simple message which stated "There's a beer promotion on. Buy one get one free. But be sure to be there before 9pm".

Apparently the girls dress code did not meet with their approval either.

The trio were charged for "Inviting people to drink alcohol" under a law introduced in 2008.
