New Passport Control System Announced
It seems that Monday is a good day for news in the Kingdom this week.
Firstly we brought you the news that Thailand could soon be offering cheap medical insurance to tourists, upon arriving in the country, which is a fantastic move, should it get approval. Now we can inform visitors to the nation, that international travellers will spend less time at the airports as the Immigration Department reveals plans to install a new "Automatic Passport Checking System".
Initially it will be available for frequent visitors to Thailand, such as those arriving from Hong Kong or Singapore, then to visitors who do not require visas.
But it could eventually be rolled out to cover all arrivals, making the process more efficient. And let's face it, no one likes standing in queues at airports.
