Bike Rain Covers Causing A Stir

Thailand's motorbike riders are causing concern for officials because of a new product that they are buying to help stay dry when it rains.

Officials claim the rain shelter is unstable and could cause accidents if it came loose or fell off as he bike was being driven. It could impact on the driver's visibility too it is claimed.

Now whilst this is is good advice it is rather comical when you witness people driving along, carrying an umbrella in one hand and steering with the other. Or two up and travelling with a double mattress on one side of the bike, totally obscuring the driver's view.

Add to this the four or five on a bike including babies, underage riders, no helmets, dogs and an assortment of other items often seen transported on the nations most popular vehicle.

And let us not forget the bikes that traverse the pavements on Thailand. Let's have some consistency here and find solutions to these every day issues.
