Apollo 11 Bag Auctioned For £1.4m
Many of you will be disappointed to learn that you have missed a golden opportunity to own a piece of the moon.
A bag used by astronaut Neil Armstrong during the Apollo 11 mission in 1969, has been sold at Sotheby's to an anonymous bidder.
The bag is said to contain moon dust and rocks collected from the surface of the moon as Armstrong did his legendary moon walk.
The price tag was a cool £1.4m.
The item is believed to be the only remnant from the mission that remains in private hands. All other memorabilia is held in museums but due to an inventory error, the bag was never logged.
Despite legal battles, it still remains out with the museum system.
