My Mate Nate Fined For Trespassing
My Mate Nate, the infamous YouTube prankster living in Thailand has been fined 5,000 baht for trespassing offences.
Nate Bartling, was filmed placing coins on a railway track in the Prawet District of Bangkok so that trains could run over them. His video was to determine which coins where the strongest.
However he soon discovered that the baht was mightier than the coins he used when he was fined for his antics.
Bartling , 24 and his friend Nut Weerotai, 23 were charged following complaints from the State Railway of Thailand.
The pair were fined the maximum that could be imposed on them for the offence.
Nate is also under investigation for animal cruelty following a video featuring his pet cat fighting with a scorpion.
The allegation is that he set up the fight to record the outcome, which saw the cat suffering as the scorpion latched on to its lip as it tried frantically to shake it off.
The accused claims it was not planned. He said he arrived home to find the cat and the scorpion at loggerheads and decided to film it, which he concedes, with hindsight, was wrong. He also claims to have taken the cat to a vet to ensure it was OK.
If found guilty, he could face a fine of 40,000 baht for animal cruelty.
The American is also the subject of a petition signed by thousands, who want him deported from Thailand.
