Gullible tourists in Russia have been having their photos taken with what they believed was a "panda cub".

Street traders in Sochi, Russia were charging people to have their photographs taken with the adorable animal.

However, locals were concerned about the safety and well-being of the cub, so they called the police.

It was then that it was discovered that it was not an endangered panda but actually a "dog". The owners of the Chow Chow dog, had went to great lengths to dye the dog's coat to imply that it was a genuine baby panda.

Easy money if you can get away with it but alas that was not the case.

The street traders were unnamed in the report. Source: The Metro
