Woman Blown To Her Death By Boeing 737
A female tourist, from New Zealand was blown to her death by the engines of a Boeing 737 aircraft at the notorious Princess Juliana International Airport on the island of St. Maarten.
The woman was holding on the fence at the perimeter of the airport, where the planes fly over the beach to the runway.
Gayleen McEwan, 57, received fatal injuries and died shortly after the plane had passed.
Tourists are known to gather at the vicinity to experience the thrill of being so close the undercarriage of the jets above them, despite warning signs being placed around the fencing. As the planes descend, they come within 100 feet of the holidaymakers.
As a result, the Maho Beach has become very popular with travellers in the Caribbean.
