Ya Ba Pills Found Inside Fighting Cocks

When an informer told Chiang Mai police that a drug trafficker was using chickens to move amphetamines around, they thought someone was extracting the urine. However, when they visited the location, they found exactly what their informer said they would.

Suspect Charnwut Seuksongkram, 29, was found to be in possession of two boxes as he waited on a songthaew near Ban Pangsak School in the Mae Sun area, close to the border with Myanmar.

He was allowed to board the bus but police ordered the bus to stop so they could check the contents of the boxes. They discovered the presence of two fighting cocks, both of which had unusual lumps on the side of their necks.

Police cut them open to discover almost 1400 Ya Ba pills, inside condoms, which had been forced down the throats of the cockerels.

The offender provided information about the destination of the drugs and as a result, enquiries are ongoing.
