New Vending Machine System For Chinese Tourists

There is good news for Chinese tourists when they visit the Kingdom of Thailand.

Three well known businesses have joined together to develop vending machines, specifically for the Chinese market.

Kasikornbank and Sun108 will work in conjunction with Alipay, to produce the service, which allows people visiting from China to purchase food and drinks, simply by scanning a QR code with their Alipay application on their phones.

Initially there will be two dozen machines placed in popular tourist areas but the plan is to roll out 500 vending machines over a three year period.

Alipay is a Chinese online payment company, similar to Apple Pay, where the phone scans a bar code or QR code permitting the payment to be taken from the buyer's bank or credit card.

Kasikornbank is a well established bank in Thailand formed in 1945, whilst Sun108 is a registered vending machine provider.
