Facebook Block Legal Marijuana Pages

Social media giant Facebook have come under fire for closing down pages which were selling marijuana - legally!

The companies, based around the United States are licensed to sell medical and recreational cannabis, which they are legally entitled to do so.

Many of Facebook's methods of locating illegal or offending content are robots or computerised systems that hunt and close down illicit pages. However, they occasionally get things wrong.

The companies involved have been advised to appeal and have their pages reinstated by Facebook.

There are nine states in America, which have legalised the sale of medical and recreational cannabis and as such, businesses associated with the production of the drug, operate within the law and should not be targetted by the social media company.

However, Facebook terms state they do not permit content that promotes the sale of cannabis, regardless of the businesses location.

Interesting scenario it would seem.
