Van Driver Caught Breaking The Law By Facebook
The Land Transport Office have punished a van driver in the form of a 10,000 baht fine, for carrying more passengers than the law permits.
But it wasn't the police who caught him. A passenger on his public transport van made a post on Facebook, including photos of the van and the authorities reacted to the social media evidence.
The Chonburi Land Transport Office, were quick to identify the van, which belongs to Sukhumvit Transport Co Ltd, resulting in driver Pipat Intharathud being taken in for questioning.
He was fined 5,000 baht for breaching road safety regulations and a further 5,000 baht for being overloaded.
He also had his licence suspended for 30 days.
The power of social media strikes again.
