Thai Girl Becomes The Youngest Ever European Tour Winner
Fourteen-year-old Atthaya Thitikul, has become the youngest ever winner of golf's Ladies European Tour
Atthaya, also known as “Nong Jean”, was just 14 years, 4 months and 19 days old when she strolled to victory at the Ladies European Thailand Tournament, on Sunday, finishing five under par.
The tournament was held at the Phoenix Gold Golf and Country Club in Chonburi on Sunday.
Unfortunately, because she is an amateur, Atthaya cannot claim the 45,000 euros prize money.
The young starlet said "It makes me feel very happy and so proud of myself. This trophy, I give to Thailand and the Thai people."
She is also the current Taiwan Amateur Open champion, which she won in June and looks set for a big future in the world of women's golf.
She obtained her interest in golf by watching it on TV and decided to give it a go.
The youngster will compete at the South East Asian Games in Malaysia in August, 2017. We wish Atthaya every success in the competition.
