Man Found Sleeping Rough On Jomtien Beach To Be Repatriated

A Dutch man who was found sleeping on Jomtien Beach has been visited by police.

The acting Chief of Pattaya City Municipality, Samchai Inruang, along with an entourage from the local police and Dutch Embassy, found the man after he was reported to have been sleeping rough on the beach in Pattaya for at least a month.

The authorities soon discovered that his visa had expired in September 2016 and that he had been travelling in Thailand for five years. However, he had found himself in dire straits and had to resort to sleeping on the beach.

The Dutch Embassy managed to make contact with the gents family, who informed them he had been reported as "missing" from Holland. His kin folk happily agreed to send funds to have him flown back to Holland.
